Missing Beaulieu 6008 S in L.A.

Hi guys,
I'm asking you fine folks in the L.A. area to please be on the lookout for my camera.
About three weeks ago I shot some tests with my cam before going on a trip. I have not seen it since returning. Possibly taken from my car along with a black soft case it was in, with a seconic meter and a Nizo ulrawide III lens.
The cam is a 6008 with the rare Angenieux 6-90 T1.4 lens w/ a Hoya 85a filter. (ouch!) modified by the Film Group for xstal sync but I still have the module.
If anyone happens to run across it at a used cam shop or pawn shop I'd appreciate your help. I have the serial #
Odds are it was assumed to be a vid. cam

Oh, man that is sad.
I don't live in L.A., but if I were you, I'd keep an eye on ebay, especially in the non-film cameras section.
Like you said, he might think it's some sort of video camera.
I'd also call people like Super8 Sound in Burbank, and other film camera stores that they might be likely to try to sell it at.
God, there must be a million pawn shops in L.A., but I'd call around to stores in like a 5 mile radius to where your car was parked.
And of course, register a theft report with the cops.
That way the serial number will be in some database, so maybe if they bust the guy for something else, they'll track your camera as being stolen.
It's a long shot, but worth a try.

I've alerted the cam stores and pro8 has the serial #.
I'll be perusing the pawn places a.s.a.p.
You never know, it could turn up eventually....sob..

Phillip, sorry about your loss, that really sucks. You didn't mention it, but I am assuming you reported the theft to the police, right? Referring to Matt's comment about Pawn Shops, many modern Pawn Shops have been actively working to clean up the whole industry's reputation. The best ones report to the police every item that was purchased, normally on a weekly basis, so that the police can check it against stolen goods reports. That's what they do here in the east and some cities and towns will no longer license such shops unless they agree to this procedure. I don't know how it is in the west and LA is a big place. Still, you have to use every resource available.
